Recap: Oconee County Warriors vs. Douglass Astros

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oconee County Warriors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Douglass with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. Oconee County pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Douglass cut but never quite recovered from.

Oconee County found their leader in underclassman Caiden Wood, who picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Titus Watkins was another key contributor, throwing for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.

Oconee County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Douglass, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Oconee County will face off against Lumpkin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lumpkin County will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Douglass does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
