Softball Preview: Fond du Lac Cardinals vs. Kimberly Papermakers
Fond du Lac is 0-10 against Kimberly since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Papermakers at 4:30 p.m. Fond du Lac is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Fond du Lac after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 7-1 to Neenah. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Susan Vokes was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Kimberly never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Appleton East on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Patriots. The Papermakers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Fond du Lac's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Kimberly, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.
