Baseball Recap: New Britain Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for New Britain's offense. They came up short against the Berlin Redcoats on Wednesday, falling 11-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Golden Hurricanes were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for New Britain and nudges their season record down to 11-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-5 Southington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 79% over those games). As for Berlin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.

Coming up, New Britain will challenge Edwin O. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berlin, they will face off against Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Redcoats surely won't give up without a fight.
