Basketball Recap: Landon Dobbs' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Henryville over Brown County

If Henryville was riding high fresh off their 64-43 takedown of Lanesville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Henryville Hornets took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brown County Eagles on Friday. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Henryville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Landon Dobbs, who posted eight points and eight boards. Dobbs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Cooper, who put up nine points.

Even though they lost, Henryville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Henryville now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Brown County, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Henryville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-51 loss against Springs Valley on the 27th. As for Brown County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-46 defeat against Riverside on the 27th.
