Softball Recap: Madison-Grant Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Madison-Grant ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Mississinewa Indians 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Argylls: when they faced off against the Indians last Saturday, they had to take a 12-7 loss.

Olivia Dunham spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Carley Holliday was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Delaney Pavey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Madison-Grant's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Mississinewa, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison-Grant will venture away from home to face off against Tipton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mississinewa, they will head out to challenge Homestead at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
