Basketball Recap: Bennington Takes a Loss

If Bennington was riding high fresh off their 60-21 takedown of Lakeside last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bennington Bulldogs took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Remington Broncos on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Broncos are ranked sixth).

Bennington's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Remington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-0-1.

Bennington will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moundridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bennington has won seven straight at home dating back to last season, while Moundridge won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Remington will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Chaparral on January 7, 2025.
