Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Robbins Key Part of a Team Effort in Thunder Win

After losing to Buena Vista the last time they met, Lamar decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lamar Thunder walked away with a 26-14 win over the Buena Vista Demons on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooklyn Robbins, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Robbins is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Milenski, who posted six points along with five rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Buena Vista lost, don't look at Daisy Lubbers. Despite the final result, she put up five points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Lubbers has posted since back in January of 2024.

Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lamar will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on La Junta at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Buena Vista will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Florence at 5:30 p.m. on January 8th.
