Football Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Timpview Thunderbirds

Springville is 0-4 against Timpview since November of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Red Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. Springville's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so Timpview's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Springville's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Maple Mountain 28-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Devils, who have now won three games in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 44 points the game before, Timpview was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 22-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Orem. The matchup marked the Thunderbirds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even if they lost, Timpview's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Duncan Strong, Cooper Gleason, and Sam Hepworth, who each picked up one sack apiece. Strong was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making nine total tackles, and defending one pass.

Springville's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Timpview, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

Springville was dealt a bruising 59-24 defeat at the hands of Timpview when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Red Devils, Soakai Aston (who threw for 294 yards and two TDs while completing 80.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
