Baseball Game Preview: Madison Bulldogs vs. Spruce Mountain Phoenix

The Madison Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Spruce Mountain Phoenix at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lisbon hit Madison with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Bulldogs nor the Greyhounds could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 6-6 draw.

Meanwhile, Spruce Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Monmouth Academy. The game marked the first time this season in which the Phoenix were not able to get on the board.

Spruce Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Labonte, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Madison's tie makes their record 8-5-1 this season. As for Spruce Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything went Madison's way against Spruce Mountain in their previous matchup on May 12th, as Madison made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
