Basketball Recap: Amite County Comes Up Short

Amite County and Pisgah squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Amite County had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Pisgah Dragons, falling 62-29. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Laylah Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double with 26 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 steals for Pisgah. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Christan Love was another key player, putting up eight points.

Amite County's loss dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Pisgah, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 28-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pisgah beat Amite County by a score of 62-29 later that day.
