Amherst County played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. Everything went their way against the Heritage Pioneers as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Amherst County and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Heritage, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Coming up, Amherst County will head out to square off against Brookville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bees have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Heritage, they will face off against Rustburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Red Devils have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
