Baseball Recap: Windham Takes a Loss

Windham had lost five straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it six. They fell just short of the Ledyard Colonels by a score of 2-0. The Whippets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Ledyard, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Ledyard's part, the result came thanks to Jake Nenna's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. Nenna has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ledyard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Windham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against St. Bernard on the 7th. As for Ledyard, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bacon Academy on the 7th.
