Baseball Game Preview: Placer Hillmen vs. Woodland Wolves

The Placer Hillmen will face off against the Woodland Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Placer's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Woodland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Placer came up short against Pleasant Grove and fell 8-5.

Devin Knight made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Woodland lost 14-1 to Yuba City on Friday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Honkers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Placer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Placer came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodland in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 4-2. Will Placer repeat their success, or does Woodland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
