Basketball Recap: Mount Juliet Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mount Juliet had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it ten. They received a blow as they fell 59-45 to the Overton Bobcats. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

As for Overton, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games.

William Livingston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 15 points and five boards. The game was his fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Messiah Clayborne also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Looking ahead, Mount Juliet will look to defend their home court on Friday against Liberty Creek at 7:30 p.m. The Golden Bears will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Overton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Whites Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
