Softball Recap: Gering Bulldogs vs. Scottsbluff Bearcats
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gering can now relate to. They fell just short of the Scottsbluff Bearcats by a score of 14-13 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 12-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Jacelyn Brown stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Clare Schlothauer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Gering's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Scottsbluff, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
As of now, neither Gering nor Scottsbluff have any future games scheduled.
