Softball Game Preview: Roncalli Jets vs. Hilbert Wolves

The Roncalli Jets will face off against the Hilbert Wolves at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Roncalli has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Hilbert will arrive with three straight wins.

Things were looking good for Roncalli after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 8-3 to Sheboygan Falls/Kohler.

Hilbert came out on top against Reedsville on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Wolves blew past the Panthers 11-1.

Kloehn Grace spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Grenzer, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Alaina Dohr was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Roncalli's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hilbert, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Roncalli suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Hilbert when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Jets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
