Basketball Recap: Angleton Comes Up Short

Angleton was the 60-53 winner over Santa Fe when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Angleton Wildcats fell just short of the Santa Fe Indians by a score of 53-51 on Friday.

It was another big night for Hannah Doerre, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards for Santa Fe. Doerre is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shade Tjepkema, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 11 points and eight boards.

Angleton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Santa Fe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Iowa Colony the next time they take the court. Santa Fe will head out to face Iowa Colony at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Angleton will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
