Basketball Recap: Juarez Comes Up Short

Juarez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves, falling 53-22. The Eagles were probably out for revenge after losing 74-30 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Martha Patino was Juarez's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Perspectives-IIT/Joslin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taleiah Marble, who posted 16 points. Marble's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniya Bell, who put up 12 points.

Juarez's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Juarez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-27 loss against Kennedy on the 24th. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Tilden on the 24th.
