Football Recap: Austin Falls to Hartselle in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Austin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Hartselle Tigers on Friday, falling 39-7. The Black Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Hartselle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Lee out in front who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. Jaheim Pruitt was in the mix too, providing the Tigers with two TDs.

Austin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 47-6 win against Decatur on the 29th. As for Hartselle, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-8 victory against Jackson-Olin on the 29th.
