Edison skates past Annandale with ease

The Edison Eagles had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. They breezed by Annandale at home to the tune of 71-43. Edison's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Annandale saw an underclassman step up: Ava Sewall scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Bolin, who scored eight points.

Edison pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Annandale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Edison will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lewis at 5:45 p.m. Edison is facing Lewis at the right time seeing as Lewis is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Annandale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Vernon at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Annandale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Mount Vernon is ranked 122nd).
