Recap: Jones Longhorns vs. Casady Cyclones
After a string of four wins, the Jones Longhorns's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a tough 77-56 defeat at the hands of Casady. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Jones came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Casady is ranked 527th).
Casady was led to victory by Bryson Buckingham and Kaden Leache. Buckingham dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, while Leache scored 29 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Leache has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Payton Mitchell-johnson, who scored 14 points.
Jones' defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Casady, they pushed their record up to 6-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jones will challenge Luther at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Casady will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Millwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
