Volleyball Game Preview: Ashley Screaming Eagle vs. Cape Fear Colts

The Ashley Screaming Eagle will venture away from home to face off against the Cape Fear Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Fear took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ashley, who comes in off a win.

Ashley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Sanderson.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Ashley took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Cape Fear unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinecrest.

Cape Fear came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Ashley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Cape Fear, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
