Baseball Game Preview: North Mustangs vs. Ironwood Eagles

The North Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Ironwood Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. North will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 22-8 to Fairfax on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Stampede: they've now lost three in a row.

Ivan Sanchez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI. Another player making a difference was Pablo Fonseca - Hernandez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Ironwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Centennial, falling 10-2.

Ironwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bo Coleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Ironwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for North, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-12.

North skirted past Ironwood 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
