Basketball Recap: Williams Takes a Loss

Williams played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Ash Fork Spartans, falling 50-28. The Vikings' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Williams still got an impressive performance from Kenzie Orozco, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points. Fern Chatters was another key player, putting up six points.

It was another big night for Isabella Acosta, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 steals for Ash Fork. Acosta is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Crystal Nixon, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points.

Williams' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Ash Fork, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Williams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-29 loss against Mogollon on the 27th. As for Ash Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-13 defeat against Joseph City on the 28th.
