Football Recap: Arcata Tigers vs. McKinleyville Panthers
Arcata had won seven straight games and Luke Lemke did his part to make it eight on Friday. The Arcata Tigers enjoyed a cozy 47-28 win over the McKinleyville Panthers thanks in part to Lemke, who rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 90 yards.
Another player making a difference was Cal Tucker, who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Arcata was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.
