Basketball Recap: Springfield Millers vs. Wilsonville Wildcats
Springfield and Wilsonville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Springfield had to settle for second. They took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wilsonville Wildcats. The Millers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilsonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabi Moultrie, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Moultrie has scored at least a third of Wilsonville's points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Counts, who posted 18 points and six boards.
Springfield's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-9. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Wilsonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-10 record this season.
