Volleyball Game Preview: Bacon Academy Bobcats vs. East Lyme Vikings

Bacon Academy hasn't had much luck against East Lyme recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bacon Academy duked it out with Plainfield on Thursday. The Bobcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers.

Bacon Academy was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-11.

Meanwhile, East Lyme had already won 14 in a row and they went ahead and made it 15 on Wednesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Panthers.

In the two sets East Lyme was on fire: they won each by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 21-25.

East Lyme's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Bacon Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Bacon Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to East Lyme in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
