Saint James won the last time they faced Elmore County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 18th.

Tatiana Shuford and Ava Stanford did most of the damage at the plate: Shuford went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Stanford scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Hudson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Saint James is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 37-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Elmore County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-14.

Coming up, Saint James will challenge Alabama Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elmore County, they will take on Handley in a tournament on Friday.
