Basketball Game Preview: Westlake Rams vs. Rosepine Eagles

The Westlake Rams will head out to square off against the Rosepine Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Westlake beat Grand Lake 55-48. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Hornets are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rosepine came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 93-74.

Rosepine's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points per game. As for Westlake, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-1.

Westlake strolled past Rosepine in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 65-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westlake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
