Basketball Recap: Faith West Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Allen Academy last Tuesday, Faith West Academy came back down to earth. The Faith West Academy Eagles took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Houston Adventist Academy. The Eagles have struggled against Houston Adventist Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Ottis Crudup was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards for Houston Adventist Academy. Crudup is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 39 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tadeo Cedeno, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Faith West Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Houston Adventist Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Faith West Academy will take on Calvary Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Calvary Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Faith West Academy likes a good challenge. Houston Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
