Softball Recap: Scituate Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

Scituate's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Lincoln Lions. With that victory, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Isabella Defusco made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since May 1st.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victoria Geisser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Sophia Maggiacomo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Scituate moved to 7-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

As of now, neither Scituate nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
