Basketball Recap: Cuthbertson Starts off Right with Win over Freedom + How To Watch

Cuthbertson gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-52 win over the Freedom Patriots. The Cavaliers pushed the score to 54-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Cuthbertson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amayah Rogers led the charge by shooting 80% from the field en route to 21 points and seven boards. Those 80% shooting accuracy gave Rogers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Johnson, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 22 points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cuthbertson is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Ardrey Kell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freedom, they will head out to square off against Draughn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
