Gio Cruz gave up the fewest walks he has since back in February on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Stanton is 3-1 when Cruz allowstwo or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Cruz and Stanton will host Ribault at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Trojans thanks in part to Cruz: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk).
