Baseball Game Preview: Army-Navy Warriors vs. Crawford Colts

The Army-Navy Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Crawford Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Army-Navy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Coastal Academy on Friday. They fell 6-2 to the Stingrays.

Army-Navy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Mandell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Crawford hadn't done well against Calvin Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Everything went Crawford's way against Calvin Christian as Crawford made off with an 18-3 win. The Colts' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Abbel Martinez was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Hector Fuentes was another key player, scoring five runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Crawford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvin Christian only managed eight hits.

Crawford's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Army-Navy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Army-Navy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Crawford struggles in that department as they've averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Army-Navy took their victory against Crawford in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 21-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Army-Navy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
