Softball Recap: Woodlawn Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Woodlawn's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Riverside Rebels get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Woodlawn has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. Riverside's defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Coming up, Woodlawn will head out to take on Hampton at 5:00 p.m. on the 31st. Hampton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Woodlawn surely won't give up without a fight. As for Riverside, they will challenge Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
