Softball Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Windsor Owls        
        
		
             The Valley Park Hawks will face off against the Windsor Owls at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 On Wednesday, Valley Park didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson and fell  5-4.
  Adison Durbin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  6.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. Durbin was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Jaecie Bowen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Alivia Robison, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Valley Park  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 16  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only tossed three.
 Meanwhile, Windsor had to start their season on the road  on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Northwest by a score of  5-3.
