Recap: DSST: Cedar Falcons vs. Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs
The DSST: Cedar Falcons entered their tilt with the Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. DSST: Cedar strolled past Addenbrooke Classical Academy with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 65-48. That's another feather in the cap for DSST: Cedar, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
DSST: Cedar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Semahje Kalanda out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Stophel, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Riley Summers and Joseph Wingrove certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Summers scored 16 points along with two steals, while Wingrove scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Summers scored 15 or more points. Syrus Newton was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Addenbrooke Classical Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
DSST: Cedar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
DSST: Cedar will be playing at home against DSST: Green Valley Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully DSST: Green Valley Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to take on DSST: College View at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in DSST: College View's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Addenbrooke Classical Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
