Baseball Game Preview: Tyler Lions vs. Lufkin Panthers

Tyler hasn't had much luck against Lufkin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Panthers at 11:00 a.m.

Tyler is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They lost 9-2 to Jacksonville.

Tyler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Da'Markous Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Aden Portley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lufkin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let Nacogdoches get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday.

Lufkin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Tyler, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.
