Softball Preview: East Hickman County Eagles vs. Columbia Central Lions
East Hickman County is 0-4 against Columbia Central since March of 2018 but things could change on Monday. East Hickman County will venture away from home to take on Columbia Central at 5:00 p.m. East Hickman County will be strutting in after a win while Columbia Central will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, East Hickman County needed a bit of extra time to put away Hickman County. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-6 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Candence Cochran made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Adelynn Oakley was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kylee Litton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
East Hickman County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
