Baseball Game Preview: Western Dubuque Bobcats vs. Kennedy Cougars

Western Dubuque is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kennedy Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Western Dubuque is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Friday, Western Dubuque was able to grind out a solid victory over Dubuque Senior, taking the game 8-3. That looming 8-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bobcats yet this season.

Meanwhile, Kennedy faced Xavier in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars fell just short of the Saints by a score of 13-12.

Western Dubuque's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Western Dubuque beat Kennedy 13-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
