Softball Recap: Justin-Siena Takes a Loss

If Justin-Siena was riding high fresh off their 25-9 takedown of Bethel last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Braves came up short against the American Canyon Wolves on Wednesday, falling 18-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 17-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Caiden Grimmer was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Justin-Siena's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for American Canyon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season.

Justin-Siena will square off against Petaluma at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for American Canyon, they will host Vintage at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crushers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
