Soccer Recap: Liberty Ranch Victorious

Liberty Ranch had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lathrop Spartans on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th in California, while the Spartans are ranked 372nd in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ivan Gonzalez and Isaac Flores scored both of Liberty Ranch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Liberty Ranch and bumps their season record up to 20-4. As for Lathrop, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Liberty Ranch didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Dixon on the 20th. Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
