Preview: Burroughs Burros vs. Serrano Diamondbacks
Burroughs is 10-0 against Serrano since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Burroughs Burros will be playing in front of their home fans against the Serrano Diamondbacks at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Burroughs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
Last Friday, Burroughs slipped by Apple Valley 49-48. The win was just what Burroughs needed coming off of a 74-37 loss in their prior contest.
Burroughs found their leader in underclassman Trevor Rowland, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Dominic Sellers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Serrano suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 85-38 loss at the hands of Oak Hills. While losing is never fun, Serrano can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 821st, while Oak Hills is ranked 204th).
Burroughs now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Serrano, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Burroughs strolled past Serrano in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 65-51. Does Burroughs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Serrano turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
