Football Recap: Edison Comes Up Short at Home Against Grant

Edison unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Grant Pacers 34-0 on Tuesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pacers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Grant's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darenee Jenkins, who rushed for 110 yards and one TD on only nine carries. An impressive showing, but Jenkins really ramped things up playing D: she picked up six sacks and made ten total tackles. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikita Vongvirath, who threw for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Coming up, Edison is taking a road trip to face off against Destiny Christian Academy at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grant, they will square off against Kennedy at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
