Coral Park takes loss despite strong efforts from Ivana Montoya and Gianella Carmenate

The Coral Park Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a rough 42-16 defeat at the hands of Florida Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Coral Park has suffered yet this season.

Coral Park's loss came despite strong showings from Gianella Carmenate and Ivana Montoya. Carmenate scored five points along with 13 rebounds, while Montoya scored two points along with 15 rebounds. Montoya is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Florida Christian found their leader in underclassman Bella Fernandez, who scored ten points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. Natalia Stocker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.

Coral Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Florida Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Coral Park will be playing in front of their home fans against American at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. American's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Coral Park's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Florida Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Southwest at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
