Softball Preview: Poland Knights vs. Sacopee Valley Hawks
Poland and Sacopee Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Poland Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Sacopee Valley Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Poland will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
Poland will head into Wednesday's game ready to turn things around: they lost a close one when they played on Monday but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a rough 16-4 loss at the hands of York.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 22 runs the game before, Sacopee Valley was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 12-1 walloping at the hands of Lake Region.
Brianna Eastman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Eastman is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's hit at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Bridget Landry, who got on base in all two of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Poland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sacopee Valley, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
