Baseball Game Preview: Paetow Panthers vs. Cinco Ranch Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Paetow Panthers challenge Cinco Ranch Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paetow will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Paetow gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Morton Ranch.

Elijah Chisam looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, Yarel Delgado was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Paetow's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-0-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Matthew Scott also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Cinco Ranch fell victim to Jordan and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Warriors. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cinco Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 9-12-1. As for Paetow, their record is now 7-9-1.

Paetow couldn't quite finish off Cinco Ranch when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can Paetow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
