Caston has gone 8-1 against Culver Community recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Comets will look to defend their home field against the Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. Caston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Caston will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Triton on Thursday. The Comets were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Trojans. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Hadlie Coffing made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Coffing was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Natalie Warner was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexie Field, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Caston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Culver Community lost 9-2 to North Judson-San Pierre on Thursday. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Caston, Culver Community also got a great game from a two-way player: Aiden Molebash. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off six hits. Molebash has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Molebash wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Milam, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Culver Community's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Caston, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Caston hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Culver Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
