Volleyball Recap: Archbold's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Archbold had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Napoleon Wildcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Streaks also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

While Archbold might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Napoleon scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Kennedy Hurst paced Archbold's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hurst got some help from Karly Kruse and her 34 assists. Autumn Benecke controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Napoleon still got an impressive performance from Taylor Borton, who had six digs and two aces. Borton is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Leah Gerdeman also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Archbold's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Napoleon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbold will host Wauseon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Napoleon, they will be playing at home against Ross at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
