Basketball Recap: Durango Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Durango extended their losing streak to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 4-15. They were beaten by the Fruita Monument Wildcats 55-22. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-28 two weeks ago.

Isaiah Lyons and Jude Alderton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lyons posted six points, while Alderton had four points and six rebounds.

As for Fruita Monument, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

Fruita Monument's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Alfstad, who earned eight points and seven boards. Alfstad also put up a block, which was his first of the season. Troy Flohr was another key player, putting up seven points.

Durango didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-19 loss against Grand Junction on the 14th. As for Fruita Monument, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-36 win against Montrose on the 17th.
